ART OF MEMORY

The Art of Memory examined how the Holocaust was memorialized. It began with a wall and the naming of the event. In German K-Z Zeit represented the Holocaust as the Concentration Camp Time as opposed to Shoah in Hebrew which means calamity. The Memorials at the site of the killing, informal monuments and the commemoration in Israel and US were all explored as well as the "tourism" of the Holocaust.
